Max grew up in Kingston as an avid sailor racing 29ers and 49ers at an international level, while the Thousand Islands provided a beautiful backdrop for casual cruising. He graduated from Mechanical Engineering at Queens in 2018, where he was also the team captain and mechanical manager of the Autonomous Sailboat Team. Following his schooling, he worked as a composites and manufacturing engineer in Santa Cruz building eVTOLs alongside the team that previously constructed the Oracle AC72s.  Here he also found the time to kite and sail 18-foot skiffs on The Bay.

Max recently moved to Vancouver after spending more than six years coaching skiing in Whistler while working full time fitting and selling ski boots. He left his position at Surefoot on a high note, ranking 3rd globally in sales volume.

He prides himself on his honest and personal touch when it comes to sales and is proud to go the extra step with clients and friends alike. Max has a deep technical understanding on how boats are designed and built and knows exactly the time and effort required, having worked in these fields.

As an accomplished skier and coach, he spends his free time in Whistler and the surrounding backcountry, and enjoys mountain biking, scuba diving, and camping when the snow is less deep. Max is looking forward to gaining invaluable experience from his peers at Freedom Marine while getting to spend more time back on the water.
