Darryl counts himself lucky to have been born into the boating lifestyle. With a master boat builder for a father, Darryl grew up on the water gaining an understanding of boats inside and out. After high school, he began a successful stint building his own custom high-end skiboats.
In a twist of fate, Darryl’s boat-building business, tooling and all, burned to the ground in 1990, leading him to the marine service industry where he handled expert fibreglass repairs and custom alterations. Before long, Darryl realized it was the relationships he was developing with his customers that brought him the most satisfaction.
Since making the move to sales in 2003, Darryl has helped hundreds of people to become owners. His goal with each customer is to introduce them to the extraordinary lifestyle that goes along with boat ownership. He takes pride in the products he sells, and his high standards for quality can be seen in his attention to detail, much appreciated by his customers.
When Darryl isn’t busy looking after his customers and keeping an eye on their boats, you might find him loading mountain bikes into his trusty 17 Montauk commuter for an epic North Shore adventure, skiing fresh powder at Whistler, or slicing glass on the slalom waterskiing course in Belcarra.
David is a true “Son of a son of a sailor.” His grandfather began pleasure boating the BC waters in the 1920’s, back when the coast was still wild and full of secrets. He instilled in his own son, David’s father, a love for seaborne adventure so true that David was basically born with a tiller in hand. He sailed with his parents through the 1970’s and developed his own passion for the sea. Though he purchased his first power boat when he was 18, David continued to sail and race competitively through the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club for many years. Today power boats are his preferred mode of travel for weekend getaways due to their ability to cover greater distance, maximizing the smaller windows of free time we all have available to us these days
David has turned his passion for boating into a successful career. From service, refit and repair to sales brokerage, David has been active internationally in the marine business for over sixteen years. As a member of Freedom Marine’s Sales Team, David has helped his clients purchase and sell boats up to 120’ and in locations as far away as Spain and the Philippines.
Canoe Cove Owner’s Association www.canoecovering.com Canoe Cove Yacht Sales and Ed Copeland have merged with Freedom Marine. To view boats for sale click here. If you’ve boated in BC, chances are you have met Ed at one time or another. Few people in yacht sales have more boating experience than Ed.
The son of a lighthouse keeper, Ed’s love for the ocean started at an early age. By 1980 he was a full-time powerboat salesperson working in Sidney, British Columbia. Ed is well known for his work with Canoe Cove Manufacturing, having sold many of the Canoe Cove Yachts built. He has made a reputation for honesty and matching clients with the perfect boat. It’s no wonder that he has a very long list of happy customers. Ed also shares a passion for horses. If you can’t find him out on the water, you’ll likely find him in the back forty enjoying the day with one of his horses.
